Potential For Gym Closures

Lockdown is the single most damaging peacetime event in the uk's history. Economically, socially and otherwise.

Covid is a virus that the vast majority of people would shake off.

They're saying the ends justify the means but the fact is its the other way around isnt it.

They're using a bad flu to justify the economic downturn and justify fucking us over with more taxation and higher prices.

They promised you the world with Brexit and this is what you've got..... The direct opposite. They stitched you all right up. The whole country. Everyone who voted for them.

You got even less hahaha haha and it's proper fucked now.

Never trust a tory chaps. Now you know but i bet still some will defend them.

Mad isn't it

Its the left wing media who are overwhelmingly pro-lockdown and saying the meager relaxing of measures are reckless, costing lives etc. As well as unions saying its not safe to go back to work. Not to mention large numbers of Labour MPs so if Labour was in charge they would have instituted a stricter lockdown earlier, the coppers would be checking your paperwork if you put your head out the door and they wouldn't be relaxing it any time soon

Coronavirus may never go away, World Health Organization warns.

Headline on BBC today.

The bubonic plague, leprosy and ebola have never gone away FFS!!

We've only ever eradicated one disease - Anthrax. Its taken them 4 months to come out with that when it's been obvious for months. Its the view that this was going to go away that makes people so supportive of the lockdown until a cure is found idea. ONS survey says only 23% of people think getting back to normal (i.e. as it was BC) will take more than 12 months. More like 2 years plus.

And even if they find a vaccine if you want to vaccinate the majority of people against a disease that has little or no impact on 90% of people it needs to do the same i.e. little or no side effects. If thats not true you will only be using it on those who its worth taking the risk with.

I do not like politicians per se and vote for selfish reasons. I voted Conservative last time as I thought they would be more likely to eradicate the draconian Loan Charge which I was going to be hit with.

I think that Trump and Boris wanted to go for herd immunity until the Ferguson model predicted outlandish death figures in UK and also the rest of the EU were locking down. Boris then felt he had no choice but to follow suit.

Hindsight is a wonderful thing and it is now clear that lockdown should have been actioned earlier. I would still have went for selective lockdown though (elderly and unwell) and not the lockdown which the majority of governments in the EU seem to have followed.

Yeah let's blame the left for the actions of a right wing government.

It's their job to oppose. Of course the oppose whatever the government are currently doing ffs.

"Great stuff though. Labour would have had us all in lockdown and ruined the economy but it would have been worse as it's the left"

Incredible logic. Steeped in fact and evidence I'm sure.

If you look at moral foundation theory the left are primarily driven by the care/harm foundation so they prioritize saving lives over any other consideration. Look around the world - US democrat states: strict early lockdown, republican states: late to lockdown/early to relax lockdown, NY state governor - I wont put a price on human life. NZ PM - i wont allow X people to die, etc.

Yeah but that isn't relevant to the UK is it.

The left in America are not the same as the left in europe. Look at what has happened in Europe.

We locked down late and we'll be the last out with the highest death rate

Politically they are different but their underlying moral drivers are the same.

Imagine locking the country down for a virus with that level of infectibility.

Oooooft. Who's gonna get the blame though?

Somehow at present it's the left itt but let's be serious.

Sir Keir Starmer, lop off his head in Parliament Square!!

Seriously, I don't apportion blame via party lines, they are all fookin useless.
