your personal complex carb choices?

Been granted another refeed this Saturday of 300-400g mainly complex carbs, last weekend I based it around maris piper potatoes, wholegrain rivita with banana, bran flakes with protein shake over it..

Just wanted to see what other folk have used so I can look out for things when I go shopping tonight, by anychance is there a form of pancake that's complex  ? And also the likes of spreads/syrup type things any of them or they all just simple carbs ?

Thanks for any help! Have had look about the net and got some ideas from lists but thought id ask here and see what folk come up with! :thumb:

i like to stick to spuds and rice. Made the odd rice pudding type affair with rice, milk and a bit of sugar and throw in some whey at the end. suppose you could use sweetener if no sugar allowed.

never seen a complex carb pancake recipe, but what about oatcakes or something similar?

for myself

potato both white and sweet. white seems to sit better when trying to take in larger amounts.

rice/rice flakes

quinoa

for others who dnt have stomach issues,

whole grain wraps, oats, potato, bread etc etc bagels(cinnamon and raisen yehhh)

Ooo bagels could be a shout! Cheers for the ideas :) keep em coming!

Even eat these when dieting

That takes time though :D

Yeah i add paprika too...great minds :)

Nandos peri peri chip sprinkle hits the spot

true, but im a tight fisted cnut (must be the Scottish blood) 4 big spuds for 50p from asda and i already have a big knife lol

never had the nandos stuff, might add it to the list.

Personally flavoured oats. Mostly soluble sources for stomach purposes so I don't eat potatoes etc.

Refeed of 300-400g lol, I take in around 1,000 every sun now. @ram did this also though I always thought it was slightly overkill but when throwing in a lot of harribos/sweets etc a 1,000 ain't fk all :L. But damn does it feel good ha ha.

Home made chips with mauris piper....cut to nice chunky size, boil till just soft, little salt and spray of one cal or little run of olive oil then put under grill to crisp off

Mash potatoes with the extra low fat garlic Philly

Tortilla wraps

Yeah but as said im not having any simple only complex and needs to be lower intake with the way my bodys working just now as can't have a set back coming into show! Lol wish I could do that haha

Hilly is the man for clean refeed ideas mate. Rice pudding....could be good.

Personally I don't think the GI of the carb source matters too much but you're following orders here so my opinion won't change things! If you're on v low carbs and depleted any sugar is gonna go straight to restoring muscle/liver glycogen, not fat stores IMO. In fact, in skiploading, simple carbs is what you want!

My favourite things to have on carb ups are: bagels (either plan or cinammon raisin, toasted and served with ham mmmm), low fat pancakes, weight watchers cake bars, cereal with minimal milk and sweets.

Why does it need to be complex on a refeed?

Best way, IMO and lyle McDonald's (even though his are much longer) is to start off with sugars then progress on to complex carbs, steady stream into the system and you'll sweat like fvck from the metabolic increase of you've been dieting a while.

Keep fat low, that goes without saying though.

I used to have asda good for you lemon pancakes, frosted shreddies in skimmed then move onto pasta and potatoes.

Another good one was cinnamon and raisin bagels with low fat garlic and herb Philadelphia with lean turkey, sh1t hot!

M&S do some really nice low fat high carb puddings too...reasonable prices aswell! I used to spend Friday lunchtimes in there stocking up for the evening antics lol
