Ha, well the guy is in his 40's and has trained them maybe twice with me before. Other than that he's never trained them. Sickening!
 
Sorry for the late response, been hell of a stressful week.

Kinda suspected that it would be a bit of both, like you say the body will pretty much dictate how to pack on the mass as to how it feels is best.

Nice to know as well, given i'm no spring chicken so having to back off a bit on occasions.

Well, I can't say for sure that you should temper your training per se to enhance your gains, but this could be one factor related to why folks seem to find that they grow better from the various approaches ranging in volume and frequency. :)
