Ok maybe rephrase it to the demands we place upon it over time, its just common sense, adaptation, but yes knowing when to back off etc suppose this is what makes or breaks progress, those who keep plugging away andbthose who train smart

I think there are a lot more of us that need to go at it far harder before backing off tbh. From a powerlifting POV, we miss lifts and or feel weak on a day and we are so quick to cry ''overtraining''. What if its actually that we need to train more?
I once heard a great phrase...''Overtraining is like the tooth fairy. Imaginary and gay.''
Seriously though... smart training/programming imho is the way by which we can train hard and just over-reach for extended periods of time without the need for scheduled or forced deloads. Progression is progression no matter how small the increments. That has to be remembered.

Didn't mean to brush your comment off btw just one of the main things tht (IMO) people do wrong is jump in head first and increase frequency and often volume at same time. Even a well thought out routine could kill someone not used to that type of training. If place more demand than body can adapt to then you really will eventually become overtrained, real overtraining I mean.

Another good post, I think along pretty much the same lines. Im sure I could push it harder than I do and get better results, proof will be in the pudding I suppose.
