Knee Problems and Weight Loss

Its always healthy to lose some weight.
Unless you're already sub 8% body fat why not just lose some body weight and make life easier on your self.
I don't see why people are slating this guy he is speaking the truth....

i remember a guy on a.nother forum bruised a rib and went to the hospital and proceeded to run through his last course and gh intake and all sorts. then proceed to moan on a forum when the doctor showed no interest at all. unless im mistaken theres no need to mention gear for a bruised rib?? lol

the truth about what though, just because he is a doc or a "specialist" or a surgeon doesnt mean his word should be gospel either, and before you jump on me I know you didnt say that but tbh I have met far too many quacks than not who have no idea about exercise etc who just pay heed to the party line... rather than investigate they just want to palm it off... my first thought would be second opinion...

i also agree with you about the exercise side 100%

off topic but going back to the doctors turning their noses up at gear. what are they supposed to say? most people are self administering something thats 100% fake from egypt. probably camel piss and hawian tropic at best, mixed by a bloke in a hut with a flip flop. they cant condone it and anyone thinks they should is plain mad

Anyone taken pharma grade is un pescribed so a doctor of course is gonna say dont do it!!

I went into a pharmacy in Egypt to buy some cotton buds and they were offering me test.

what makes me laugh is when you get the big bollocks who comes back off hol and says

'found some real proper stuff out there'

what that translated in to is

'i found a bloke whos labeling and bottling machine was better than the pharmacy down the road so even though we both have camel piss, mines bottled better':D

I can see why you say its healthy to loose weight, but dont agree that it would make my life EASIER at all.

Im not saying this doctor was useless because he called me fat lol, its just the laid back and not give a toss attitude he had and as soon as i mentioned squatting he jump straight on that as the problem.

He also said to me and i quote, 'Your to heavy, i can see its muscle but its too much'

I also said to him my dad has been carpet fitting for 30 years and had no problems and he said 'Is he big and muscular like you' to which i said know and then he said 'Thats why' Surely that is abit of a stab in the dark !!

Get a 2nd opinion for sure.

Plenty of docs will fob you off if you give them a reason in this case squatting....but as you said you havent squatted for a while then obv telling you to stop squatting is pointless anyway as you already have done!!!

Squats with good technique should not casue any knee problems whatsoever unless there is an underlying problem, a good doc would surely investigate what this underlying problem is, to say stop squatting is the easy way out. Unfortunately not surprised to hear about the 'couldnt care less attitude'.

If a footy player went to docs and said his ankle gives him trouble when he kicks the ball would he tell him to stop playing footy then?? Would he fck, even a sh1t doc would try and find the underlying problem.

And to recommend leg extensions as the alternative??? Most machines place much more stress on the knee so wtf kind of advice is that and from a specialist no less! LOL!!

This is exactly my point mate, i haven't squatted in around 4 months therefor if it were squats that were causing the problem surely i would be having no pain now.

As i said im booked in for a MRI in a few weeks so hopefully that will show up any soft tissue problem so it can be fixed asap.

The doctor did say that if he found anything wrong that he would have to do key hole surgery on the knee to see exactly what the problem was. TBH i really dont want to have any surgery because this will mess up my training and work.

pmsl @ ppl trusting this doc, guy could of gone in to his local hairdressers and got same "prognosis",

I could bore you with the multiple times myself, family and friends have been mis diagnosed but I'll save
it as I'm getting my haircut Saturday

OK, just one ditty, medial ligaments fvcked up after 20 stone bloke fell on it, doc said never play footy, do
kb or lift weight again, 6 weeks later I was back playing footy, kb, and lifting weights. After this career shattering
injury I became one of the best kbers in our street  I've been lifting reasonably heavy weights incl squats for
at least one decade after as well  Played footy for another 10+ years

NHS Doctors, 75%+ are sh1te IMO.

As the old saying goes "you get what you pay for" and seeing as we pay nowt for the docs it's no wonder they're sh1te.

Broke collar bone, went for check up "it seems to be healing nicely, come back in a few weeks time", end of appointment. Thanks for that insightful information doc.
