Lantus Insulin

to start with do fasted first thing in the morning and post results.

I personally wouldn't use any more slin untill you've done that.

If fasted bg is healthy it's a pretty good indicator sensitivity is not the issue.

The next step for me would be to test the slin. Obvs jab it the take some measurements....not sure on the best time intervals for measuring post jab....someone will be able to chime in wity that.

best thing that worked for me was a short time of re-sensitizing to insulin. 4 weeks of low carb dieting, high volume training (fasted) and cardio. lots of healthy fats but even protein was moderate (protein effects glucose metabolism too)
followed by 2-3 weeks of carb cycling, introducing carbs back in slowly but only a few days a week.
gear was very moderate, just a maintenance phase.

after that it's the best time to use insulin imo, sensitivity is up, you're lean, had a break-ish from gear and are primed to grow.
but nothing puts on water quicker than lantus!
it's the best thing i've used for size though.
only way i kept water minimal was using a moderate dose of lantus (30-40ius) combined with 15ius novorapid around training.
this way carb intake doesn't have to be overly high either.

in all honesty though, lantus really isn't needed for most of us imho. insulin generally isn't needed.
you can build an incredible physique from just gear and gh.
fast slin around training is definitely beneficial though, but even then i don't miss it.
haven't used insulin for a few years because of personal probs but honestly it's not an important tool imo.
will take longer to get size without insulin but i find that people who haven't used slin for their size have a much better and more dense look to the muscle.

I've finished my contest prep about 5 weeks ago where I was low carb for a good 12-15 weeks so I should be good for insulin sensitivity

ah ok, probably contradictory to my first post but some info that could be of some help, is that it has no peak and it causes a drip-feed of insulin throughout the entire day rather than an onset of insulin like bolus (novorapid and fast slin)

the protocol for insulin replacement therapy is normally a basal-bolus mix of 50/50 each, ranging from 0.6-1.0iu's per kg
so if you weigh 100kg thats 60-100ius of insulin and 30-50ius coming from lantus and thats just a replacement dose.

but for AAS maybe consider the one's which are easy on water, as Con said you'll turn into a complete marshmallow otherwise!
with a bit of t3 and using compounds like EQ, tren rather than test, deca as the mainstays would be better.
(if using lantus over 40ius though, at 30-40 water isn't so bad IME)

carbs throughout the day as already said, there isn't a general rule of thumb like there is with bolus i.e. 10g carbs per iu but need to make sure you have a steady supply of carbs throughout the day,
lantus and low carbs is extremely dangerous but with something like 40ius you won't need a ridiculous amount.

Was thinking npp and test I'm not watery on npp like I am on deca and I always use t3 25-50mcg

also gonna try 50g carbs every 2-2.30 hours with 30g protein

...
It was explained to me by someone in the know...in fact I paid for a protocol, that you need to supress endogenous production while on lantus as far as possible by using mimetics. Sensitisers also there to do there bit.
.
Whilst agents that increase sensitivity of skeletal muscle to insulin would be handy, insulin resistance in muscle is more a matter of changes within the muscle as to how it handles fuel eg( ceramides and chums ) rather that of high or relatively chronic insulin elevations.

Endogenous insulin secretion will lower anyhow to compensate for exogenous supply.

As long as there is not a nutrient oversupply and more importantly the muscle is getting sufficient activity one should be ok. Too much intramuscular fats and not enough burning is the problem AFAIK.

Quick update my blood glucose monitor still hasn't arrived so got kind of experimental with the slin shot 20iu slin this morning had 500ml Orange juice,10g creating,20g EAA all was fine till around 50mins went a little light headed and dizzy so knew it was time for some carbs so had my 2nd shake of 400ml 1% milk, 50g whey, 100g oats, 30g honey was ok after this so I am not a resistant to insulin as first thought works out to 140-150g carbs over the 2 shakes which is 7-8g carbs per iu

I also think you've got to be stupid to kill yourself on insulin the way people make out makes it sound like u die on the spot lol I've gone hypo a few times before when doing keto so know what to look out for but people over exaggerate massively

Would you take the slin shot then meal replacement shake or Shake then shot ... Thank you for that con much appreciated, I've only ever used it preWO but now offseason is here I'd like to experiment but trying to get some background info first.

did you continue to use it while prepping, or drop it at a certain point in prep (last few weeks for example)? what sort of dosages were you on & did they also drop at any point?

I only ever used it back in earlier in the year just pre Workout at 5-8iu. Pumps were really good. I will be using it this offseason combined with GH as that will be the first time I've used that properly also.

You're playing with fire dude.
BG can drop and it can drop very hard.
You can find your self with very little time to dose carbs.

Example: I once used quite a bit of RALA around a workout without a lot of carbs. I got home and was suddenly dizzy and feeling very bad. Took a reading BG was down at 32. I managed to get carbs into my body but it was not a fun time. That was without insulin just using OTC RALA!

Yea I know it can drop very sudden as when I was doing keto but feel after that experience I can feel it early enough to get carbs in I always have a bottle of lucozade on my desk at work so always on hand
