sounds like either a mild reaction to the oil/gear (which isn't sepsis ffs), bit of test flu (which will go) or you're going too deep with the needle & hitting the lymphatic system

Carrier oil, I had same thing with MCT oil, same sides. Swelling, flu like symptoms.
