XR3i or XR2 early 80's

Stay away from the Aprilia rsv1000r then. That's the most torquey bike I've ever ridden. I'm used to riding wheelies on most all bikes including the cr500 dirt bike (which is stupid btw) and that RSV will put you on your back so fast you won't know what happened. It's pretty ridiculously awesome to be completely honest.

First powerful road bike I road the rsv..... Although because it was I was so scared I never went past 2k revs lmao straight up to top and never strayed over 70 thanks lmao! The mrs dad owns one and told me I can have it if I MOT it :S but I have heard they are scary shit so declined haha

You only live once. Grab life by the horns and wrap the throttle. You haven't been excited until you have been on the back tire at 200km/h.

Your going to be the death of me! That's what I'm scared of..... I will be the wanker who utters.... Watch this! Followed by a screech and a loud clatter haha!

I had a mk3 XR2i I really did love that car.

To answer the question I'd have a xr2

Parkers give the E39 M5 a combined of 19MPG and the X350 XJR a combined of 23MPG so what makes my post null and void regarding 'better fuel economy' ?????

Erm, you've missed my point. We're talking about performance saloons and not diesels here - who cares about mpg, I know I don't. The fact that you use it as a comparison means that we're talking a different language - which is fair enough since not everyone has the same criteria when buying a car.

Good info there :)

Where u suggest best pace to look is??

As for working on?? LOL I know F'All about fixing cars so has to not need any work

The XR owners club forum (as RS posted) would be the first place to start. There will be some lovely examples. They will be top money though as enthusiasts tend to be blinkered and think the values of their cars are more than Joe public. There will also be polished turds! Being in the scene myself you see some cars from popular forum users that everyone rants about that are quite honestly not all that. It's no different to a BB forum in that respect and I'm sure you get that point 100%!

Ebay is always a good window front. Oldskoolfords.co.uk. passionford.com. rsownersclub.co.uk. Turbosport.co.uk. Fiesta club of Gt Britain (don't know the site). Numerous places to hunt them down. Just take someone with you that knows what they are looking for. There will be a registrar on the XR site that will have a database of alot of the more known motors.

RetroRides has been mentioned but that tends to be more of the poverty models for cheap retro hacks. There may be one or two on there though.

If after an Escort the early XR3's are the desirable ones. Pre injection. Hard to find now though.

Sadly the XR's don't have the following that the RS's have. Even that is dying out now as people have less flash cash.

I know I have whored some of my cars before but as RS is after some pics, these are a couple of my rencent ones..

Would be more than happy to look at some with you. If I had the money I would buy loads of cars. It's kinda addictive tbh, I like the chase and I'm far to old, fat and ugly to be hunting women or food. The Neandathal in me now chases cars!

I used to be very much into the car scene. Being a dad has meant less money of late to enjoy it like I used to but I am slowly getting that side of things back. The past 4/5 years I have been plodding along with it. I still go to shows but just a few less than before and not in my show cars.

Love track days. Both in my cars and in friends. My boss has a 500+ hp racing cossy and it is spec'd like an 80's touring car. No word of a lie it makes fast road cars appear to be going backwards. Chased down and destroyed many supercars in it. Great fun!!

Try and get some of that fun back in my life. :)

Not really a Ford man but that Cossie looks superb. Nice find with that E36 - are they genuine RD's ?

I think they are Mim's? Not sure of model but rare and desirable, apparently?? The offset on the rear is huge but he's a bodyshop man and has flared the arches.

I have never given much consideration to the E36 before but they are fast becoming alot of car for the money. This one is nice (325 non vanos) with all the bits like coilovers, adjustable top mounts, sports leather, m3 kit etc and was for throw away money. Providing they aren't rotten they are a decent motor.

I was discussing the merits of a Jag over an M5 with Njf1988,I wasn't talking to you at all.So your multiple references 'we're talking' in this post are nonsense don't hijack it's, forum etiquette.

Well I apologise if I've offended you in some way, that wasn't my intention. I just found it amusing that you use better mpg as a merit over the M5 - most petrolheads wouldn't give a monkeys about that. That is all.

Apologies to the OP too for hijacking his thread, I'm off to fill the tank on my M5 :)
