Steroids and Kidney Failure

Has anyone suffered from kidney stones??
I have pain in my lower back kidney area at night that is magnified after I pee. Getting really uncomfortable on my right side. I've looked on web and it could be a stone. Anyone suffered.

some undoubtedly do but imho quite a few are just tired of the shit...

But if that's the case, why not just get on with it? No need to publicise it.

I freely admit to abusing gear. I'm probably a candidate for an early grave or at least a big health problem. But those are risks I'm willing to take.

But if it did happen, you wouldn't catch me either defending gear or slaggiing it down. Far better to keep a low profile with regards to that subject. If you throw yourself back in the spotlight you're asking for people to give you shit (either rightly or wrongly) and in that case, you should just take it on the chin and move on.

We're all big boys. We all know that there are risks using AAS. Burying our heads in the sand and saying "It could have happened to anyone" is like a smoker saying the same thing about lung cancer. Far better to just keep quiet and do what you're gonna do.

took me a second to see where youre coming from... yeah I agree for the most part mate... one thing that was pointed out to me when I first started down the dark path was to be careful and avoid attributing every sniffle, ache or ailment to aas... and totally get you re risks and taking responsibility... something I have mentioned previously...

Why is it when all BB’ers get any health issue, they become so defensive and the gear never, ever has a part to play? Not a dig at Paul or Daz. As Paul has even previously stated, at first he assumed PED’s had played a part in his issue. Not saying PED’s will caused everyone huge problems, they certainly have exacerbated many conditions/situations.

With regards to Daz, I have read his journal, I’m somewhat interested. If he is doing it for the people, like he keeps claiming, then he has to come out and be 100% honest. He has to accept that people will want to know what he done in the past with training, diet and PED’s and what he will be doing this time.
Although reading between the lines, he wants publicity, hence the twitter team etc.. I could be wrong and if so I apologise.
I think your right he is doing it for exposure as he will get loads, no one competes for anyone else but themselves so the "competing for the people" is more of a profile selling point than anything else

As for people being defensive I can only comment on how I felt when I first found out, I felt ashamed that I had done this to myself because I wanted to be a success on stage, I hated the fact that potentially I could leave my kids without a dad and a wife without a husband so I could say I once made the British finals......so the natural thing to do is deny it has anything to do with the gear.......my mind was put at rest when it was explained to me by my renal consultant just what my disease is and how it was caused, the cold hard fact for me i would be in this position if i never trained or took gear.....unfortunately most think it is a black & white issue "you took steroids therefore they are the cause" when this for many is not true certainly is not for me, i cannot comment on say Daz and Dave

Madness tho isn't it

Imagine god giving you a second chance at life only to make the same mistakes

Yet we expect our kids and grandkids to learn from our mistakes yet we'd still walk the same path.
God seriously :)

imho I think its a knee jerk reaction to the uninformed, ill educated loud mouths... I mean to be told youre mega unhealthy and its all down to peds innit by a person who drinks more than george best, takes more reccies than shane mcgowan and eats like 5 bellies is a bit rich... and usually the case is not so cut and dry... but people work in absolutes and black and whites so they will never conceive of alternates... eg climate change is a bullshit idea... the climate change is a natural and cyclical thing... its our exacerbating it that should be curtailed not the actual change itself but you have all the fvcktards saying we should stop temperatures going up... thus changing the pattern of millennia...
THIS........
for me i get defensive when people assume instead of ask, i get annoyed when i get preached at by people that smash the gear, are fat and have never had bloods taken to see if they might have issues.......

@Pscarb Thanks for the reply. If you don't mind me asking, did the Dr's say anything about the BB'ing life style(not just PED's) did they say it has brought the illness to the surface quicker due to it? or possibly kept them at bay longer, due to the cardio, keeping body fat low, eating clean the majority of the time?
If you don't want to comment, I understand.

Have any bbers who have, or had any kind of organ problem due to steroids actually put their hands up and blamed ped usage or is everyone just unlucky?

I think most put it on the over-consumption of Painkillers that they use to 'mask' all the niggly injuries they pick up from training.

actually this is a valid point too, not only apportioning of blame to justify or whathaveyou but also that its very seldom ONLY peds a lifter/trainer will use... I mean I have been guilty of using a concoction of pain killers and anti inflamms to help with the pain both pre and post training and competing... some are indicated as not so good for the system (diclofenac for eg) and then add in peds and the occasional drink... well its seldom just that one thing I would argue...

Unless there is a prior issue (as in Don Longs case), it very rarely is just one thing.
Synergism ... I think the word is ;)

no mate in fact the opposite, when i was put under my current consultant (who is amazing) 4yrs ago i actually said to him should i stop training, lower protein etc.... his answer to me was that if i did it would have less than a 1% effect on my illness in a positive manner but the negative result on me as a lifestyle would be more destructive (depressions etc) as like he said it was obvious training and all that is involved has a lot to do with my lifestyle and dropping it all would be a negative.

we spoke about a year ago about steroids and again he said as long as i was sensible (didn't increase BP) then there was no logical reason to stop all together, however he then did say he would not write down on my notes he advised me of that lol
