Boxing Thread

It is very subjective isn't it?

TF has beaten Wilder twice and Wlad.
AJ has beaten a better level of opponent over the years (from Dillian fight onwards).

I would state that most would now rate TF higher than AJ. The odds back that up too :-

Tyson Fury - 4/7
Anthony Joshua - 7/4

I think it is much more even and would back AJ at those odds.

Anyhow, I am posting up the general consensus rankings. Do you disagree?

I agree with that list, Fury has been the top HW for awhile now imo. Just suprised you have him as your number 1

When have you had him number one from?

That is the consensus list. For me, I would have AJ and TF as equal 1. I will back AJ at 7/4.

To be fair, I have been impressed with both fighters in their rematches.

TF fought in a way I didn't think he was capable. Same for AJ. They have both shown facets of ability which I didn't think they possessed.

Would you put TF number one since the Wilder rematch?
Yeah. That performance sealed the top spot for me

AJ looked good in his rematch but a back foot points win will never be as impressive to me as a front foot constant pressure KO against someone as dangerous as Wilder

Agree, I like the dominating, walk forward performance more than the back foot performance.

I do think that AJ's overall record needs to be taken into account too.

Anyway, let's hope that, with Whyte now out of the picture, AJ flattens Pulev and Fury flattens Wilder and we get the big one!!

As soon as he went to Wilders back yard after a 3 year lay off and dominated him. The rematch just made his number 1 spot more concrete

First performance had him behind AJ IMO, rematch had him level or even higher depending on how you rate their past records too.

Whyte can hold his head up high, AFAIC. He did more damage to Povetkin in the first 4 rounds than Joshua ever did and anyone who thinks this fight is proof that Whyte is finished doesn't understand heavyweight boxing.

This will only make him a better boxer.

Kell Brook has been offered around $1.5 million for a November bout on an ESPN platform vs. 147-pound champ Terence Crawford.

What we saying chaps? Dubois by KO in round 1? Looks like a massive mismatch.

Decent card so far, bt sport 1
