When I grow up can I be like you?
Probably not...I mean I am 5ft8 so will always tower over your hobbit ass:lol:

I had about a 5 reps in me for the deadlift but I haven't gone over 500lb for a long time so only wanted smooth "speed" style reps.
May drop down to about 550lb and do a set of 6-8 next week...if I feel good.

I'm looking to change up my deads to some higher rep stuff. Hopefully get some changes going

I am mechanically gifted as we all know (long arms short back).
I pulled 500lb at 17 first day trying them.
However I get a huge growth response from them hence why I have always done them!
Even triples make my body grow....singles and doubles not so much.
I always use a slow negative and hold the reps at lockout for 3 seconds with the last rep being held for at least 5 (when doing sets under 5 reps) to increase TUT.

I think deads work like that for me. Just not so much. My armspan is 3" longer than my height.

I defo think slow tempo TUT deads are the way to go for anyone regardless of how they are built. When done properly they are just amazing.

I am not pulling a huge amount more weight than I was 5 years ago (500lb max) but am pulling with much more controlled tempo and rarely do less than 5 reps per set and my back development has come on leaps and bounds! Anyone can bounce a heavy bar off the floor for reps, but controlling that shit and squeezing...now THAT'S some true silverback shit :)
 
Another superb night of sleep.
I went to bed at 9:30pm woke up once at 3:30am then kept sleeping until 8am:laugh:

A long day ahead cardio, strimmering weeds, cleaning gym equipment, training clients....depending how I feel I will train pecs/tris.

I estimate body fat at 8.5-9% right now based on previous dexascans so moving in the right direction. My wife is hassling me to start practice and not just wing it like I normally do lol

Meal 1: 3/4 cup oats, 1 scoop whey, 2 whole eggs, 1/2 cup berries
Meal 2: 6 cooked ounces 96% beef, 3/4 cup cooked rice, veg
Meal 3: 6 cooked ounces chicken, 4 ounces avocado, veg
Meal 4: 4.5 cooked ounces chicken, 3/4 cup cooked rice, veg
Meal 5: 4.5 cooked ounces 96% beef, 3/4 cup cooked rice, veg
Meal 6: same as meal 3
 
Looking very good man! Lower back is rather lean and you can see through your trunks that glutes are hard and defined too (FULL homo). Looking at your pose and it is probably one of your best due to your beast back and im thinking maybe you should play around with different ways of hitting the pose for more effect? Left foot forward, right foot further back and knees bent more, feet point out to the sides much more to show more quad flare (hourglass illusion of more width and thinner waist). And then on the torso lean back a bit more to flex the erectors to bring out more lower back detail?

Honestly I have barely ever done any posing practice but now competing at a higher level I realize it will make or break my placing so will get on it!

for sure. usually its the skinny ecto's who need to focus on posing since getting shredded and displaying the little muscle they do have is priority!

but you have a fair amount of beef on your frame so improvements in posing will bring you on leaps and bounds IMO

Coleman even said himself that it was only once he got a posing (and prep) coach that he started make some real dents in the IFBB

He talks about it here from 14:30 onwards too

Well my ideal would be to get down compete around 180lb at the two USBF shows then continue the grind until start of March and finally hit classics at the AC (yeah been saying this shit for 3 years now haha).

But with how my current diet is going I see it as a possibility.
Last time at this leanness I was on 2k at most and struggling....right now it doesn't even feel like a diet tbh.
 
Mind state is what divides winners from losers we know this.
Although with a degree in sports psych I still get psyched out regarding my own diet hence getting a buddy to do mine.
But another trick I use is to set my goal post to a later point.
In this case the AC in March.
If I am focused on thinking "In March I need to be 170lb at 3% bf" nearly all mental pressure leaves me in regards to my upcoming shows in Nov.
Now instead of being an end destination these points become just mile stones.

@hsmann87 seeing that you know a lot about lighter weight bb.
Do you have any pictures of 5ft8 or there about guys that weight 170lb....finding it hard to visualize tbh.....besides looking like a meth head in clothes obviously lol

I could be wrong but I think (judging from your posts only mind as i have never spoken to you face to face) that you never get truly meth head alien shredded because you always wanna look big in a tshirt. Well why not just fuck all that looking big in a tshirt bollocks for 3 months. You know that you are hench and you look big in clothes when you are 8%. But why not for ONLY 3 months of your life just go hell for leather and see how lean you really can get? I mean it is only 3 months of your life which in the grand scheme of things is very little time. Look like a meth head if need be. Who cares? Your wife and kid and mum will still love you regardless of how hench you are right? What is the worst that could happen.....Con doesnt like how he looks when he is at 3%. Well no biggie. Just eat some burgers and cake for a week or two and you will look massive again lol.

My days of looking big in a shirt are 4 years behind me...I never look big in a shirt any more.
Trying to keep this thread moving and thought would better to post up some ripped naked men than hsmann:D
