Is the UK in Decline? Has it gone soft?

I saw the discussion on Trump and thought of bringing this up.

I feel like we are taxed to death and drowning in bureaucracy. Meanwhile, everyday people are working twice as hard for half the reward. Cost of living going through the roof.

Everything’s broken: economy, trust, backbone. Is there a way back or are we just in decline?

I'd say it's been in a decline for a long long time. I've seen it in my lifetime.

I mean look at the state of the armed forces alone. If it wasn't for NATO support / Article 5 any semi decent nation could steam roll us now. Criminal it's been allowed to come to this.

Other countries own pretty much all of our energy production.

Dont even start on the tax. Just the very fact the tax thresholds haven't moved with inflation should be criminal also.

Half the problem is the political class genuinely feels entitled to our money. It's theirs in their eyes. And we won't do anything about it - can't - they have long since outlawed any means of us getting ourselves "teeth" and I'll bet that is by design also!
