Fortitude Training (Review)

the fact its been put together by someone who knows what their doing is a given tbh. im not having a dig mate lol, just a generalisation across the board when it comes to people questioning a professionals methods. only way to find out if it works for you is to try it. what makes you think you're own training methods are up to scratch? (again not aiming this at you Jonny)

same applies to diet.. lots of IIFYM cunts preaching they'll be fine as long as they stay within they're macros.. BUT.. who set you're macros? you? it's most likely been wrong from the start then. AGAIN not aimed at you

wee bitch over

lol

No mate i personally would never question a professional or the methods, I am v interested in using a program, as like you say this has been put together by someone who knows what they are doing in this game.

my training methods more than likely are not even close to up to scratch  i just think what i am doing is great as i am happy with where i am, however i have no benchmark to compare my own training / progress with, and i do know for a fact that it could be improved.
Or at the least i could be training smarter and making better progress..

So got me thinking about a proper system, like Fortitude (or any other ones) that i may try out and give 100% to and see how it goes.

Did you find that you progressed better when following a system, or with Jim etc, over what you planned out yourself.?
Or was it just the motivation that seen as you paid for something you were more committed, had more drive?

I knew that was coming! :D

yeah, only way to know though, is to try it.

I definitely do not train half arsed mate, (imo), i love training hard with nothing left at the end. Only way i train these days tbh.

That is the kinda thing i was wondering, different stimulation, more frequency etc.
I am most likely missing out on using different techniques.

This does sound pretty good, as i love hard ass training.

Ive always just put together splits/exercises that i have made up from guys on the forums, albeit my own mixture.

For the cost you cant really go wrong so will more than likely try this out.
and as Con had said, for even expanding your training view point could be very beneficial.

I basically feel depleted 2/3 of the way through the workouts and am overtrained after 5/6 weeks.

May have to look into dextrose even though I never seen the need before now...

@JonnyBoy you need to remember fortitude replaces volume with frequency. You can't really do both and get away with it before burning out. It's 3 sets for chest for example for a reason because the frequency of training (several times per week) builds the volume. Some believe volume better than frequency some the other way around. Personally I think frequency works best (for me anyway) I've trained this way for about 6 years bodyparts two to 3 times in about 8 days.

sounds v nice :D how would you say your progress/physique has changed using this routine? or too soon to say?

I always feel fuked about 2/3 way through as well mate. especially on legs and back. chest shoulder not so much.

Personally i do find dex / malto great for mid workout, i rely on it sometimes.
I actually got the wee kids fruit puree pouches recently, they are great! cheap and taste v nice as well.
get them in asda / tesco.

I did it in the summer for 6weeks when cutting. PB,s were set and I grew on a deficit.
Doing it this time with food in place and 4ml of TMT 500 so I'll wait and see but dont have the feeling I could have done more if that makes sense.

I know I've done the program the best I can and have nothing left at the end.

@Jim 's training plan was much the same as my own training anyway, so nothing gained there tbh. but Jim was the point I revamped my thinking on diet completely, have come on leaps & bounds since... so money well spent for me

ah ok, that is where it will differ alot from what i have ever done before then by the looks of it.

I am pretty much high volume every session, lots of sets lots reps. one muscle group per week.

Would be a big shock to do just say 3 sets, but like you say that is where frequency takes over.

Hmm this may well indeed prove to be just the change in approach i need. :)

Hey doc

I sent you an email via your site ?
Not sure if you check them or not so just checking

Thanks
As you were people

Just responded!

I think this is a must for anyone to try , I don't say that about many programmes, but honestly I love FT . The sessions are HARD , it will enlighten you to your volume : frequency limitations. I use FT in periods throughout the year and I will this next 12 months too, so it certainly has my approval

can this be done 3x a week or are more sessions needed to cover everything?

Yeah in the book he has a 3x a week 'family man' plan

I do this. I do it even though I could go more if I wanted to avoid overtraining and gives the joints and nervous system a better rest I feel.

JB,

If you pick up the book, you'll see the rationale regarding higher frequency training. This article will give you some of my thoughts, too:

jeez looks like a good read! :thumb:

think i will pick the book up tbh. Im glad the guys have noted that its easy to follow, as some systems kind of put you off.

I may also run a fortitude journal when i start it, keep me motivated and track progress, if that is ok with you?
I wouldn't document any of the actual e-book details, ie workouts etc, just more a summary of each day/workout/diet.

Just to confirm, the Fortitude E-book is all that is needed? I see you have some other more expensive packages.
