Fortitude Training (Review)

Why not actually do traditional hacks with the barbell behind your back.

I think if I take that to failure I'll likely end up falling on the bar!

Hi Scott

This is just nit picking really
But would you perfer some (if work secdual allows )

To do
Lower load /upper pump
Off
Upper load /lower pump
Off
Lower MR
Upper MR
OFF

Just cos at the min
I'm having to do
Lower /upper pump
Off
Upper /lower pump
Lower MR
Off
Upper MR
Off
Just my shifts change soon so I could prob do the afore mentioned
Just interested in how you perfer the set up to look across the week
Thank Scott

Obviously not Scott but I've done a set up like your currently doing same reason shifts and found the extra recovery worked a treat. Still hitting the body 3 times in 8

Do you hiting MRs the day after a loading day ?

First way would be better but second way wouldn't be the end of the world (assuming you're not doing the turbo version)

I start my FT week on a Saturday as it's easier to get a rack on a Saturday morning and it makes the rest of the week fit better.

The first version is what most prefer, but not all - it's a matter of recovery from the different workouts and personal preferences. (This has been a substantial topic on my board at least once.)

Really, though, you don't have a choice and ultimately that choice is yours (as this is another aspect of auto regulation, which is preferable in those who feel confident in doing so.)

Diet brain again ..

So for the last 5 weeks of prep
I took training into my own hands (coach was fine with this )
So he is still in charge of diet and cardio
And as iv done FT since the book came out so I know it works well for me
But it's now 3 weeks out and my food is very low

Training day -low day 3xweek
Protein 285g
Carbs 100g (200g on medium day which is 1x a week )
Fats 25g

Rest day
Protein 300g
Carbs trace
Fats 50g

And cardio is now up to 45mins 4x a week
And 45mins am 20min evening on 3x week
(All LISS now , hitt sprints have been dropped )

So all this with ft is pretty taxing
Would it be worth dropping FT to say and PPL or back to an upper lower split for the next three weeks ?

Now the reason I decided to back to FT this close to show was because , my Theroy with training is if you look forward to every session you will attack them much more
Some of the sessions my coach had me do , I dident look foward to all that much , i still put the work in
I jus feel it's easier, especially at this stage in prep to actually he excited about session , so you can really attack them

Again I'm over thinking but I want these last 3 weeks to be as good as possible

Why do you want to switch training?...

What are you seeing that you don't like, in terms of body comp, strength, muscle, etc? Are you going to be ready in time? (Or, as you mention, does this have to do with how taxing your current regime is?...)

(Just making sure - have you read the FAQ sections in the book on Cardio and dropping fat?...)

Iv read the book so many times ,
No it's I had a bad day yesterday
Considersd pulling out of show , there's a lot of strain on family life at the min
Had my first bad training session

But like I said my coach calls the shots with nutrition and cardio
Just the amount he wants me doing as of tomorrow , add that the drop I. Food he made ,
Just second guessing I guess
But he says I'm ready now ,but as iv got 3 weeks left we gonna really crank it out

So it's just me being a bit delicate and over thinking more than anything

I would confer with him as some of this isn't making sense to me (check the underlined).

(Sorry about the family life strain. I think there may be clues there in what you typed above, too. :( )

It's just me rambling Scott lol
Basically
He says I could easily step on stage now , but as I have 3 weeks left
He wants to really push for super shredded
He has dropped the food a lot. Next week and put the cardio up
I'm just worried the above on top of FT training will not be a good combination
Not saying he's a bad coach but usually I wouldn't be second guessing my coach ..

I am not Scott (duh!!! lol) but in this situation I would ask your coach how he wants you to train for these final 3 weeks.
After that go back on FT.

I never understand how some coaches will do only the diet portion for a client and only vaguely ask about diet.
99% of times I do both training and diet for clients but in those rare cases that I only do diet I insist on a very detailed log regarding what they do in the gym.

Dont understand this either, cos say if he swaps from ft training to a low volume bb split the energy expenditure would be completely different thus diet would match...?? Surely the coach has the diet set with the understanding hes running ft!

Sounds like this is between you and your coach, @1_mike_land. One chef in kitchen. :)

Hmmmm....
Usually a change in diet etc will be based on what's been happening previously

So if it's all been the same training previously then the change in diet should correlate to what's been happening with your body.

So if he is saying... based on what you look like now and the rate of that you have been changing in the current situation you need to change he this that and the other to see an improvement then I'd follow it and do as you have been.

Never work with some one you dnt have full faith in... doubting your coach this close to a show is a bad sign of things to come imo

Sit back
Let him take the reigns...
That is what he is there for surely?
