Scivation Whey
Ive just tried this in Chocolate Peanut Butter flavour.

First of all the taste . Its very pleasant tastes like it should sort of a sweet chocolate flavour can just about get PB in there too.

This is a blend of Concentrate , Isolate and Hydroysate (hydrolysed whey)

Per 32g serving . 22g of protein, 1g of sugar, 2g of carbs, 2g of fat. (this seems to differ a bit on some websites.)

This is a decent blend like many of the higher quality wheys these days.

The problem for me is...

Reflex Instant Whey Pro
This is a new formula, I had the Banana flavour

This is a breakdown of the whey ingredients.
Instant Whey PRO Blend (Undenatured Native Whey Protein Isolate & Undenatured Cross-Flow Micro-Filtered Whey Protein Isolate, Undenatured Ultra-Filtered Whey Protein Concentrate)(Peptide-Bonded Glutamine (derived from wheat protein), Hydrolysed Whey Protein (30% degree of hydrolysis), L-Glutamine).

As you can see they are using Native whey which is great but can also see our old friend Peptide -Bonded Glutamine in there. This is not a bad thing by any means its just a cheaper form of protein. The main proteins in this are...

lol I do love a supplement, as I get older every little helps :)

Supplements are just getting more and more popular. The problem is so is the rubbish.

Your in the gym you see people walk in with tubs of utter crap and just paid £60+ for it . You want to tell them what there buying is a load of sugar etc but sometimes its pointless. At least if they do a search a review might pop up.

Bodybuilding Warehouse Performance Prime Pre Workout.

Ive used this over a couple of weeks. The reason why I first went for it is the amount of actives in it . Actives meaning active ingredients.

In a 20g serving heres the ingredients list . No prob blends for a start. Nice

Active Ingredients Per Serving:

  • PeptoPro® - 6g Instantised
  • Instantised Leucine - 3g
  • Citrulline Malate - 3g
  • Creapure® - 3g
  • Beta-Alanine - 2g
  • Taurine - 1g
  • Caffeine - 275mg
  • Fruitflow® - 150mg

I like the line up . I personally like a bit more beta alanine 3g and always add a bit extra Taurine to a pre workout , also ive never heard any great reason why creatine (creapure) should be in a pre workout although Performance Prime is hardly alone in this they all seem to have it.

The rest of the ingredients are very good Leucine helps protein synthesis and PeptoPro works in conjunction with the Leucine to help with the protein uptake and seems all the rage at the moment for Intra drinks so should be good in a pre workout drink.

A full 3g serving of Citruline Malate as well as fruitflow to help with DOMS.

Taste and Mixability

Taste-Citrus punch I really like this I cant put my finger on the taste its sort of tropical even a hint of coconut in there.

Mixability - its terrible but not unexpected considering the ingredients after you drink it just add a bit more water and have the rest its not a big deal.

Does it work?

Well this isnt a bang in your face pre workout its not massively high in caffeine prob about medium by today's standards this is meant as a muscle builder and prolonged energy drink and I think it does a great job.

The ingredients are proven with good amounts, ive enjoyed my workouts on this I feel full and muscles feel energized .

Id recommend Performance Prime. Looks like they have thought about it and tried to make a next gen pre workout and made a pretty good job of it.

There is also a caffeine free version. .

How much is it per serving as imo you need double that per session

a serving is 20g mate.

I often take this along with some ephedrine as a pre workout, I like it

Also doubles up as a good intra (caffeine free version) (esp as Hilly says using a double doSe)

yes your right would be great as an intra with double dose, expensive though.

Dr Zaks Protein Pasta
I thought id do a review to help anyone else looking at buying this as it is expensive.

Developed by Jay Cutler and Dr Zak so the info says lets hope it was and not just had the name put to it.
100% natural ingredients and the protein used is Pea protein Isolate.

First of comes in a pretty cool black bag and when you open that bag the pasta is cut into short ribbons its a darker colour than average white pasta.

Anyway it doesn't get any simpler we've all cooked it a few minutes in boiling water done.

Taste and Texture
Now this is different , its a more cardboardy (i know that's not a word) texture not smooth like normal pasta they are like little pices of soft cardboard/paper type stuff in the mouth . It tasted fine to me I liked it but I wouldn't go serving it to a partner instead of linguini or something .

I had it with one of those concentrated pasta sauces and some chicken and for me it was very nice but as I say this isn't quite the same as normal pasta but not to far off.

Now 2 things really set this off from normal pasta and that's Price and Nutritional info . Ill post both sets of info so you can see the difference...
