Fortitude Training (Review)

(I think I answered your question. :) Let me know if not.)

Just one last thought is that if you're just sorta, kinda, hoping for fat loss, I'd not count on it too very much. I'd go with diet and leave the prowler work alone, but if you just like HIIT with the prowler, then go for it! :)

Yes don't worry it was a weird post workout haze based reply saying you hit the nail on the head with your answer.
Thanks. Ooh one more thing for someone who feels bicep curls in the delts more than biceps what would you advise. I only feel bis working on there own with either preacher machine or hammer curls.

Workout haze is entirely acceptable. :) :) :)

I'd stick to the exercises that you feel in the target muscle. I'd also try doing bicep unilaterally in an isolated position (preacher, concentration curl resting in inner thigh or on a bench), with as much supination as you can muster. Also use machines where you can do the exercise open handed, without having to grip the bar / handle. (Machines work for this - barbells, you'll end up dropping. Once you have a feel for that easy of doing bi's, if it works, it will help with loosening your grip to help feel other movements.)

Feel free to put biceps before delt work if needed (and you don't reverse the problem when training delts)

Hey Bud,

Once you have the .pdf, you can just email it to yourself (and check email on your iPad) or load it as a document when you sync your iPad (iBooks, I think, is what you'd use).

Thanks Scott ! manged to do it now !

quick question relating to tier 1 basic e.g day 2
,back says 2 sets so my thoughts are you choose one exercise for back e.g bent over row ,warm up feeder sets then 2 working sets with that one exercise ! chest says 1 set so lets say decline bench 2-3 feeder warmup sets and then one load set to failure in the 6-12 rep range ! reading that back sounds abot stupid as its all in the book but jusy wanted to double check.

the book so well written and the amount of infomation is unreal ! credit to you ! best £13 ive ever spent

Right on!!! Makes me very happy to hear that. :)

Yes, you've got the idea, except that with Back on Day 1, you'd do both a Width and a Thickness Exercise for back.

Feeder / warm-up sets are really up to you: Whatever you need to do to get ready to kick ass. :)

Just to update my own experience with the system.
I did a total of 3 blasts since last year but I always went back to my usual training because no one wanted to train with me full time.
You really should have a training partner for this style of training if possible.
I can't even count 6 sets of 4 and give full effort...I need a person to count my reps lol.

Now I have a client that pays me to train with him.
So given the fact that he is up for literally any thing I have been doing FT with him.
With a full time training partner and my other training partners dropping in for a workout here and there (I have 4 other training partners that can only make 1-2 sessions each per week) it really has been going great.

FT is good because it forces you train very hard.
You don't even have to think about it!
Example; muscle rounds you simply take your 15 rep max weight and force out 6 sets of 4....very easy to know how much weight to use and it will always kick your ass!

Used the fortitude diet for my last blast before my comp at start of the year

Found calories so easy to get in and stayed leaner

Was on 5300 cals on training days and could easily eat more.

Now using same diet for reverse dieting adter comp. But trying layne norton phat training

Blast starts again soon and will try the workout program and diet

Will be making a log on here

So look forward to seeing how it goes

That's interesting that you say that. I'm definitely for having a training partner, but have done most of my FT without one.

I've heard just a couple times that counting reps can throw some folks off (and I hear you there - makes total sense), but others (like me) who focus better when counting reps or who see numbers as a mental image do well with the muscle rounds.

Glad you guys are digging it! That full time training partner who pays you to train with him sounds like he's a blast to get after it with.

(And, after that 1st go with a MR, log-book based progression makes it even easier. )

Hey doc

I sent you an email via your site ?
Not sure if you check them or not so just checking

Thanks

As you were people

So this looks to be good...

But

What gives the advantage over a program like this vs your own training program that you have put together?

Obv your own program is not done by a pro like Dr Scott, but what advantages do you get from a system like this?

I looked at wendler 531 a while back and looked good, but never followed through with it.

Very interested in this as i have never used an actual program/system per say (well 5x5 SL few yrs back) so wondering if i am missing out on anything.

Am i holding myself back from better development? Is it better to follow a system like this over your own even when you are progressing?

i think i would like to use a proper training system, been 'freestylin' too long now, very structured freestylin though! :D

Buy it,try it and find out..
Basically your stimulating your muscles in different ways more frequently.
Takes a lot out of you so not for the half arsed as you won't make it work.

I knew that was coming! :D

yeah, only way to know though, is to try it.

I definitely do not train half arsed mate, (imo), i love training hard with nothing left at the end. Only way i train these days tbh.

That is the kinda thing i was wondering, different stimulation, more frequency etc.
I am most likely missing out on using different techniques.

This does sound pretty good, as i love hard ass training.

Ive always just put together splits/exercises that i have made up from guys on the forums, albeit my own mixture.

For the cost you cant really go wrong so will more than likely try this out.
and as Con had said, for even expanding your training view point could be very beneficial.

:D

the fact its been put together by someone who knows what their doing is a given tbh. im not having a dig mate lol, just a generalisation across the board when it comes to people questioning a professionals methods. only way to find out if it works for you is to try it. what makes you think you're own training methods are up to scratch? (again not aiming this at you Jonny)

same applies to diet.. lots of IIFYM cunts preaching they'll be fine as long as they stay within they're macros.. BUT.. who set you're macros? you? it's most likely been wrong from the start then. AGAIN not aimed at you

wee bitch over
