Genuinely thought you was older than me mate?
shows how poorly managed its been - no one can cope hence why everyone should have been told to stay at home for 2 weeks... it helps keep a lid on the spread....
all health systems are fucked in a panic, doesn't matter where you are, and sadly that's what happens - once something spreads beyond any norm of control the effort is made to save healthy people not those who will most likely die
Italy with the worlds oldest pop after Japan has got walloped....
if only the emergencies turn up there is a chance, hence again home quarantine to snuff it out or at least flatten the curve and give hospitals a chance...
Chinas action was what was needed, Singapore and HK have the lowest amount but yet a huge amount of people who travel to and from china almost daily... but from day 1 both acted fast with quarantines and shutting schools and using technology...just cant and wont happen in the west so its going to be hope enough people get it and then fight back on their own
if you aren't healthy your in potential trouble... id be ordering Chloroquine online asap before it stops coming out of India (old nasty anti malarial that had some success with SARS and Chinese docs in Wuhan)
The virus would have no effect on me at all or my missus and kids. We are all healthy with no underlying health conditions.
I don't come into contact with any elderly relatives as they all live up North.
I was happy to continue travelling into the City on tubes and trains. But we had a discussion as a company yesterday and we decided that it was socially responsible for us to WFH. We can do all of our work remotely anyhow and we didn't want to spread any of the virus even more, especially to elderly or unwell.
TBH, I am more worried about the economic impact to the business we are trying to set up. We could be totally fooked by this.
economic wise its a disaster for sure... that's going to be the issue - to be fair the UK has led from the front with actions but I doubt its enough
again ill use HK as we are getting back to norms
restaurants were fooked, had been anyway but loads of closed of late, even in the busiest area for expats and tourists
cabs way easier to get - lots suffered and suffering from the tourist drop
supermarkets - laughing their cocks off at the world going mad over bog roll
small business's took up the ass, private tutors, PTs, yoga, Physios etc went pretty much 2 months with nada- its starting to uptick a little now...
but that's two months of shit in a place where we had a handle on it and shut things down in Jan.... and somewhere that's fairly small.....more like a London than a UK
on the plus side we have terrible air quality here when china is pumping full on, so its been nice! Howerver we also have one of the highest respiratory disease cases due to this and the close contact due to how crammed it is - and yet still deaths are very low here. My Bro in Law has bad asthma too and touch wood hes been fine - so fingers crossed its a positive sign for your mrs - as we are on the doorstep of it. You just have to do what you think is best, I think pulling kids from school and just stepping back from the world for a few weeks is the soundest plan anyone can make right now....
Exactly. Lucky for me I am a junior developer so working from home isn’t an issue. I have been since last Thursday.
I have pulled my kids. Reason I pulled them at this point is because my mrs is currently on antibiotics for tonsillitis.
I need her fit and healthy before anyone brings any other germs into the house.
P.s my brother works in HK. He’s a teacher. Good to see how they have cracked on tbh.
He didn’t even bother wearing a mask through it all. Lol.
Ken. As much as I enjoy your ramblings. With a new virus the world has never seen before there is no way you can say ‘it won’t affect my wife kids we’ll be fine’.
God forbid, and I pray we all stay healthy. End of the day though. None of us know what can and can’t be.
If a lot of vulnerable people get sick. End up in the ER, intensive care etc then there isn’t enough ventilators or doctor care to cater for the rest of us it doesn’t matter on your current factors if you can’t get the care when you need it.
HahahahaBrah, nandos was empty its sound
Coronavirus has been around since 1960s mate, this is just a new strain.
All of the patients in UK who passed away were aged between 56 and 94 and had underlying health conditions.
we have a short term whack followed by a U shaped recovery if this gets sorted by June IMO, if come summer its still in the shite we are into the worst recession in a lifetime , possibly 100yrs.... as Airlines etc will go, and then a house of cards with huge unemployemnt. China will bounce as its roaring capacity up and if the world is in shutdown it will churn out like never before to take the slack
