Intra Workout Drink Thoughts

What's peoples thoughts on 'Intraworkout' drinks? Do you use them - EAA etc or a sports drink or do you just drink plain old H2O?

Personally I drink water - circa 500ml during a workout.

Anyone actually notice a real world difference from intraworkout 'fuel'?

personally i think there very useful for helping improve anabolism, oreventing catabolism and being used as a period to get extra cals in when bulking and pushing the calories hard.

personally i have 20g EAA, beta a, 15g glutamine, 40g carbs - wms and dex mix

Dont always drink an intra workout shake but sometimes when doing squat sessions as they can last very long, I use PhD's Wavy Vol, its made from waxy barley starch, digests quick but no stomach upset, tastes god too.

Erm....no you don't! I watched the lionking and meerkats eat grubs and lots of them!
So be truthful about your supplementation, trying to trick us and say you're so strong due to wavy vol when in reality its a big box of maggots that is your secret.

Fvck i hate when athletes lie! Should ban you right now tbh
 
I am a water girl....well I was until the PL'ing and as Merat mentions sometimes big heavy sessions with a few of you are quite long...I will then just have either a high carb drink like maxi Carb or even some jelly babies or jaffas have been known. Intra workout snack :0)

:lol: sh1t caught me out bro, ok I lied I eat grubs laced with creatine and NOX :D pmsl
 
Have started to notice a big difference using EAA's pre/during workout..... and BCAA's with Arginine pre/during fasted cardio.

I've said this a million times now (and people are probably getting totally fed up with it, lol) but for me the biggest single positive change I feel I've made to supplementation over the years has been switching from a standard whey + carbs PWO drink to a pre and intra workout drink of EAAs plus a few other bits and pieces.

I'd say the positives that come from this are significant compared to a PWO drink- no energy crash after the workout, hardly any DOMS at all, greater growth.

Don't get me wrong, am not saying it makes you suddenly pudzianowski strong or grow twice as big twice as fast and recover in half the time, but it does seem to improve all of those factors just a little bit.

EAA's are the main bit for me but on long exercise sessions I also like to add carbs and electrolytes. Optional additions are extra BCAAs, taurine, creatine, AAKG, OKG, tyrosine, BA.

Just for your info and others. I have switched from using pepto pro to EAA 20g per day and kept everything else - carbs/beta a, glut the same. These last 2 weeks since doing so i have been getting a little stronger just a touch but i have been which has suprised me as im on having a couple of weeks down time from supps if you get my drift :)

OK I am going to be honest, the difference has been noticed while I am on cycle - I usualy experience extreme fatigue towards the end of week 2, I put this down to body going into overdrive. ALSO my hair starts falling out while using certain compounds. This time however I am running the same course, same diet and the only thing that I am doing that is different is consuming good quantities of both BCAA's and EAA's. This time I have not experienced the fatigue NOR hairloss and my physique on the whole is leaner......and I feel very well.
